Walking Off the Pounds meets every Tuesday and Friday at 9:00 AM, and every Sunday at 10:00 AM at the Fenney Rec Center. Make sure to bring an exercise mat and bands to every class. If you have any questions, contact the organizer, Karen Peterson, at [email protected].
This class accommodates all fitness levels and is a low impact, indoor walking class with options to boost your heart rate. We follow a video with basic steps to included walking in place, walking forward and back, front kicks, knee lifts, kick backs, and side steps for up to a maximum of 5 miles per class. You can decide how many miles you want to walk and feel free to leave whenever you have had enough. It is a great way to increase cardiovascular strength and burn calories rain or shine and it is a lot of fun! The class is becoming very popular and starting to fill up so it is a good idea to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before the scheduled time. I will be happy to talk to anyone who is interested in trying out the class should they have any questions.
